What is Bridging Open Work Permit?
A Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) allows foreign nationals awaiting their permanent residence application results to continue working in Canada. This permit grants job flexibility, enabling individuals to change employers without reapplying for work authorization. BOWP ensures uninterrupted employment while applicants complete the final stages of their immigration process.
Individuals who have submitted a permanent residence application under an economic immigration program, such as Express Entry, may qualify for a BOWP if they meet eligibility requirements.
Applicants who have received "approval-in-principle" status from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are eligible to apply for a BOWP, pending background checks or additional requirements.
Those currently residing in Canada with valid temporary resident status are eligible to apply for a BOWP, allowing them to remain employed while awaiting their permanent residency decision.
Applicants must meet provincial or territorial work requirements where they reside or intend to work, ensuring compliance with all Canadian laws.
Only individuals who meet Canadian admissibility criteria, including legal background checks and health requirements, qualify for the BOWP.
Eligibility extends to those who have applied for permanent residence under specific economic programs, ensuring their skills align with Canadian economic priorities.

Self-represented applicants typically make errors which can lead to their application being refused and make it very difficult for them to apply again in the future. Our team will work with you to ensure that your application is complete and free of errors.
Spousal sponsorship applications may be refused for a variety of reasons, including insufficient documentation to prove your relationship is genuine. If you don’t have an intimate knowledge of the program, it can be very easy to make a mistake or omit important information and documents, which could lead to your application being delayed or refused.
